If you are one of the more than 91,000 Long Island residents with a “restricted” pistol license (e.g. Sportsman, Business, Employment, Premises, or Dwelling), or you are merely thinking about enhancing your firearms competence, RANGE 1 RIVERHEAD offers quality training for beginners and experts alike.
 

Whether your license has been issued by the Nassau or Suffolk County Police Departments, or the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office, New York State’s Concealed Carry Improvement Act (CCIA) now requires an 18-hour training course to receive, or upgrade to, an unrestricted concealed carry pistol license.
 

At $325 per student, RANGE 1’s Training Academy offers the most affordable and comprehensive CCIA training program on Long Island. Classes are limited in size to ensure personalized service from our New York State-authorized instructors and are filled on a first-to- register basis. For the shooting portions of the class, students utilize real guns modified to fire light-load plastic rounds manufactured by Ultimate Training Munitions (UTM).
 

Upon successful course completion, students will receive their New York State certificate and a 10% discount on a future purchase of guns, ammunition and accessories, or a class for which they are qualified. Multi-student and one-on-one instruction—in disciplines spanning Basic Firearms Safety to Advanced Combat Shooting—is also available by appointment.

 

When construction is complete, our live-fire ranges will be clean, safe, environmentally sound, and feature the latest technology, such as static and tactical targets. It will be rated for all calibers up to 50 BMG, as well as full auto. Classes will also be held in our planned force-on-force simulated ammunition “shoot house,” and include immersion simulators in our 38,000 square foot indoor facility.
